Outside work

Wind in the sails
Music in the room

On the water, around a dinner table, or halfway through a record. Here are a few things I happily lose track of time doing.

Sailing

The wind gets
the last word

Sailing is my passion; this is where I connect with nature. I find a particular pleasure in being completely absorbed in the elements, the boat and the next move. Regattas, racing, ocean voyages, family vacations — as long as it is wind-powered, count me in.

  • Fresh air. Long descents.

Skiing, steep slopes and long days on the mountain.

  • Boots on. Signal off.

Hiking and time outdoors, preferably somewhere without reception.

  • A different way of life.

I have travelled my whole life and continue to do so — I’m genuinely inspired by new flavours, new views, new ways of life and a glimpse of how people live.

Food & wine

Something good
on the table

I love cooking for people at home or anywhere I go. I care about flavours, craftsmanship and where things come from — and as a trained sommelier, I have a deep passion for pairing wine with food. I’m passionate about wines with a sense of place rather than a famous label. Feel free to ask me for recommendations ;-)

  • Handmade.

I enjoy building and crafting things, both digitally and with my hands. Prototypes and agents on the laptop; leather, wood and tools in the real world.

  • Quality.

I find a particular sense of enjoyment in quality products and work where experience and craftsmanship are deeply evident — be it art, music or a pair of shoes.

  • A little better every day.

Craftsmanship as making one thing a little better each time — the same instinct I bring to products.

Guitar, music & vinyl

Put a record on
Let it play

Jazz, contemporary indie and the occasional arena-rock classic. Music is on most of my day; sometimes I’m the one playing guitar.

My vinyl collection grows slowly. One good pressing at a time.

Books

Read

Camus. Hemingway.
Steinbeck. Kløvedal.

I enjoy books as the slowest and deepest form of communication in existence — a way to reach across generations.

Home

Family

I’m married to Luise and the father of two boys. The most personal part of my life only gets a small space here — this part of my life happens away from the screen.
